IMG_1281

Yesterday my big sister Corrina gave birth to my first nephew Seth Brian Watt. He arrived to this world safe and sound.

I already have 4 princesses (nieces) so this will be a lovely change. It'll be fun to buy boy stuff like batman and spiderman toys when he's old enough to enjoy them.

I can't wait for my next cuddle

Blue hair re-do inspiration

I'm at the stage in my hair dying that I need to re-do the blue so I've been looking at flickr for inspiration. Here's what I found.

I'm so ready to get rid of this hypercolour pink/purple hair. I'm going to dye it this week and then redo it again before my next super fun adventure in November that I'll tell you all about soon.

Rainbows & a chest infection

photo.JPG

Today I looked after my nieces. I've been promising them for a long time that next time I looked after them we'd make rainbow cupcakes. Today I followed through on that promise.

This was my second attempt at the rainbow cupcakes and they've turned out much much better than the last batch. Bridie was in charge of the sprinkles and Evie helped stir the food dye into the different bowls.

They are so delicious that Bridie and I ate three before I had to put the lid on the container. She has taken a bunch home with her because she wanted to share them with her Mummy and Daddy.

This was such a bright contrast to the sickness I'm now battling with. I've had a cough for over 3 weeks but it was getting better. This morning I woke up coughing up some yuck stuff I won't describe and could barely talk so I decided today that it was time to visit the doctors. I have both a chest infection and the beginnings of a throat infection. I've been prescribed some medication and was told to gargle warm salty water (yuck). Hopefully this clears this mess up and I'm back to normal soon. I'm ready to feel well again.

P.S the inspiration for these cupcakes came from the lovely Kaylah over at her blog The Dainty Squid

Tumbleweed city

Oh man it seems like I've fallen into that Tumbleweed City curse that has been hitting a lot of blogs I've been reading this month. It's not that I haven't had things to write about or photos to share - it's just I've been exhausted and this month has totally slipped away from me.

Today I decided to share a bright happy photos of me from last weekend in an attept to get myself back on track.

Tomorrow the nieces come around because my sister is visiting from inter-state. A good excuse to get the fam bam together.

Today I caught up on some reality TV shows (Survivor & Amazing Race) and soon I am supposed to be dying my older sisters hair (if she ever arrives) and then I'm talking to my Uncle about what he wants me to take photos of at his wedding on the 6th of November. And then I'm off to the cinemas to watch the special telecast of the Les Miserables Anniversary show that was filmed at the O2 arena in London.

An all round lovely day.

Sometime this week I'll share an exciting adventure that started as a dream and has become a reality!! For now I'm going to enjoy the rest of my weekend.

What a weekend!

Oh man what a weekend I've had!! I'm so tired I can barely function & I'm so happy I could smile forever. I'll elaborate over the next couple of days but right now I'm going to live in this moment & enjoy it!

A history of flower gifts

photo.JPG

For the past 2 & 3/4 years that I have been working next door to a florist I have constantly had beautiful "off cut" flowers on my desk as gifts. I like to think of them as little gifts even though I know they're left overs. They add a little piece of colour to my day and always brighten my mood.

I'm not much of a girlie girl but having some beautiful flowers on my desk always make me smile. I have taken snaps over the years of the flowers that have made me smile & after receiving an amazing bunch of oriental lilies & warratahs this week I thought some of the pictures might brighten someone else's day too.

I've been battling a horrible cough all week & fighting off a cold so this small piece of colour has helped keep the mood uplifted.

Oh & there's not much better than getting delicious scones with jam & cream complete with Collingwood support from lovely ladies who love our shop (yeah we got these last week but they still make me smile).
